Wolfpack 14 Classics 6
The Wolfpack hitting attack was mean and ferocious with 23 hits across every team member in beating the Classics 14-6. Leading the offensive attack was Howard Borochaner going 4 for 4, Keith Klasic and Phil D'Angiolini who each had 3 hits with 2 up against the left field wall and Dick Tosti who started the first inning attack with a bases clearing triple. After a 3-3 tie at the end of the first inning Wayne Heaton's pitching and great defensive plays by Phil Angiolini at short and Jim Stabene at second base clamped down on the Classics for the next 4 innings, while the Pack scored 11 runs in those 4 innings. Tracey Zimmerman, Bob Gaines, Wayne Heaton and Butch Bodenheimer each had 2 hits while Jack Galloway, Jim Stabene, Augie Rosenblatt each slashed one hit in an unrelenting attack at the plate. The game was a complete team effort to win against a tough Classics team.
The Wolfpack started the top half of the innings scoring three runs but the Classics came back to score three runs to tie the game. The Wolfpack added runs every inning except the seventh and the Classics went scoreless until the sixth inning scoring three runs to lose 14 to 6. This was not the best Classics showing having two key players out but we will bounce back to our winning ways.
Starr 15 Wildcats 2
Starr Scored 1 Run in the Top of the First But the Wildcats Roared Back in the Bottom of the First with Three Straight Singles and an Infield Pop-Up to take a 2-1 Lead !!! Too Bad that the Game is 7 Innings as Starr was able to Score 14 more Runs and the Wildcats could only Manage 1 more Hit for a Total of 4 Hits for the Game !!! The Offense or Lack of Offense was led by Charlie Whitaker 2 Singles and 1 Run Scored George Groves 1 Single and 1 Run Scored and Franco Folda 1 Single !!!
Starr Played Excellent Defense and Managed to Hit the Ball Over-Under-Around-and Through the Wildcat Defense!! Starr is a Veteran Team led by a Manager with a
“FOOT FETISH” !!!
Congratulations to Dr.Jerry Barsky’s Wildcats on a Well Played Game !!!
