This was a “GOOD WEEK” for the Wildcats as they Won 2 Games  !!! Today Started with a 5 Run First Inning then 2 Runs in the Third 3 in the Fourth and 5 more in the Fifth and were able to Hold the Classics to 4 Runs for a 15-4 Victory !!! Leading the way were Larry Restivo and Tom Boyce both going 3 for 3 and Scoring 2 Runs each !!! Charlie Whitaker got back on Track going 3 for 4 with 3 Runs Scored along with George Groves going 3 for 4, scoring twice and Franklin Smith going 2 for 3 also Scoring Twice!!! The Wildcats also played Good DEFENSE for a Second Straight Game which   “HELPED TREMENDOUSLY”

The Wildcats jumped out in the first inning with five runs and never looked back scoring fifteen runs and holding our Classics to four runs.  The Classics lost 15-4 but the team spirit is still high.

Flames 10 Panthers 4

Tom Cosgrove's Flames celebrated his boyhood favorite Carl Yastrzemski's 85th birthday with a 10 to 4 win over the Panthers.  The Flames regained some of their heat with hits from every player in the lineup and a defensive doubleplay.  The offense was led by three hits from Gene Corrado and Ron Tuminski.  Frank Glauser, Gene Harris, Ken Radon, Aaron Sacharov, and John Salmon each contributed two hits.  The Flames demonstrated some power with a three-run homerun from Tom Cosgrove and doubles from Gene Corrado, Gene Harris, and John Salmon. Norm Derry pitched a solid game and fielded his position well.  The mathematically inclined Ken Radon had 10% of the Flames' RBI's.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for playing softball with temperatures in the mid-60s.  The Panthers played a tight game against the Flames except for giving up a 5-run 3rd inning losing by a score of 10-4.  The Panthers played good defense for the other six innings allowing only 5 runs.  Offensively the team put up 16 hits on 36 at bats.  Gary Jones went 3-3, Ed Occhi and Terry Gallagher both went 3-4.

Wolfpack 15 Eagles 14

This hard fought game is proof that a good team never surrenders!.  The Eagles came out flying in the first three innings and with help of poor defense by the Wolfpack, by the third inning the Pack was behind 10 to 4. Trying to stay in the game the Pack scored 4 runs on timely hits by Ron Mangini, Bob Gaines, Dick Tosti, Keith Klasic and Jack Galloway and Phil Angiolini crushed a solo homer to left field, number 4 for Phil this season.
The Eagles would not let up scoring with additional 4 runs over the next 4 innings.  As the Wolfpack chipped away at the lead with key clutch hits by Phil Angiolini, Sac Fly from Bob Gaines, hits from Craig Niederpruem, Howard Borochaner, Dick Tosti, Keith Klasic and Jack Galloway set the stage for an incredible comeback by the Wolfpack in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the score being 14-9 Augie Rosenblatt led off slashing a single but the Eagles were able to record two outs.  The never say die Wolfpack players Stabene, Zimmereman, Mangini, D'Angiolini, Tosti, all singled bringing the score to 14-12 still with two outs  With two runners on base the stage was set to make this a KLASIC comeback and DID HE EVER!  Keith Klasic took a strike and then crushed a pitch to deep left field for a game winning 3 run homer!!!
Final Score Wolfpack 15 - Eagles 14.  Agreat game played by both teams. The Wolfpack offense was led by Tracey Zimmerman with 1 hit, Ron Mangini with 2, Phil D'Angiolini with 2 ( including his HR), Bob Gaines 1 hit and a SAC fly, Dick Tosti with 3 key hits, Keith Klasic 3 hits (winning HR), Jack Galloway 3 hits, Craig Neiderpruem had 2 hits as did Howard Borochaner who also played good defense, and Wayne Heaton, Augie Rosenblatt and Butch Bodenheimer all chipping in with hits.
On a beautiful day to play ball the Eagles played the Wolfpack and turned the day into an ugly mess. The Eagles came out playing very strong scoring at least 1run in the first 5 innings building a  14 to 5 lead going into the 6th inning. Then the wolf pack caught fire and the eagles ran out of gas. The eagles  stopped scoring in the 6 th and 7th innings and the wolf pack scored 4 in the sixth inning and finished the eagles off by scoring 6 in the seventh  to win the game 15 to 14. Congratulations to the wolf pack for a great comeback win.   The eagles were led by Ed Brandriff  who went  5for 5  including a triple.  Bob Esterly went 4 for 4 and John Walsh and Bill Howland both had 3 hits.  Ted Henritzy, Barry Windsor, Pascal Houcke, Judy Agasar, Rich Diçkson and Doug Ritter each chipped in with 2 hits but it wasn't enough to hold off a gallant comeback by the Wolfpack.

Starr 12 Blue Jays 5

Starr jumped out to a 9 to 0 lead after 2 innings and never looked back enroute to a 12 to 4 final. The Blue Jay's  were down 12  to 1 and scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th for a 12 to 5 Starr win.  After a humiliating game Tuesday Starr found it's composure to bounce back. Offensive stars were Larry Levin going 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and a booming RBI triple. Terry Klein was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Also with 2 hits were Jack "horse" Donohue, Terry Abrams, Alan Massey, and Vince Burkett.  Chipping in with 1 hit was Hal Katz, Spencer Synderman, Lee Bullman, Jay Passman, and Harris Braunstein
Great defensive plays by Terry Klein and Jay Passman helped 2 possible good innings to end.

The uncharacteristic Blue Jays started slow, allowing 9 runs in the first two innings and only mustered 5 hits and 1 run through 6 innings.  The birds responded with a 7th inning rally but fell way short losing to Starr by a score of 12 to 5.  Jeff Blank led the Jays offense going 2 for 3 and scoring 2 runs.  Jim O'Brien added 2 hits with an RBI.  Del Kates, Jack McNulty (double), Fred Weiner, Bob Dolan, Whitey Jerden, Warren Fuchs and Jim Swiderski chipped in with 1 hit.
