Classics 9 Wolfpack 7

The Classics jumped out to a 7 - 1 lead in the first two innings. The Wolfpack placed themselves in a hole with 5 errors in the first two innings but then tightened up to keep the game in sight. The Wolfpack bats were quiet in the first three innings but started to awaken in the late innings making it a nailbiter with the score 9-7 going into the 7th inning. The Wolfpack offense was led by Dick Tosti with 3 hits and Tracey Zimmerman, Phil Angiolini, Bob Gaines, Jim Stabene and Augie Rosenblatt each had 2 hits pulling the score close. The Wolfpack had two runners on in the bottom of the seventh inning but could not push them across, dropping the game by the score 9-7.

The Classics had a classic day scoring 3 runs in the first inning, 4 in the second inning and adding one run in the 5th & 6th. Great fielding in the infield, outfield and pitching by Tom Boyle. The team kept our fielding errors to a minimum with a good team win 9-6. Hitting attack was led by Ron Cohen, Paul Stetsko, and Andy Markowitz with 2 hits each and Tom Boyle with 3 hits.

Starr 12 Wildcats 8

Wildcats scored first with a 5 run top of the first for a short lived lead until Starr also scored 5 runs for a tie. It stayed that way till the bottom of the 3rd when Starr surged ahead with 3 runs and 4 more in the bottom of the 4th for a commanding lead of 12 to 5.    At this point Starr never looked back and won 12 to 8.  Offensive stars were Hal Katz, Larry Levin, Vince Burkett, and Alan Massey all going 3  for 3. Chipping in with 2 hits were Jack Donohue, Lee Bullman. Terry Klein, Ron Fein,  Spencer Synderman,Terry Abrams and Jay Passman had 1 hit.  Ron Fein had 3 RBI's.  Larry Levin, Hal Katz, and Lee Bull each had 2 RBI's. Defensively Larry Levin made a great catch and Alan Massey made a great play in the last inning with 2 runners on that would have scored.  That ended the game with the tying run on deck.  After a shaky first inning Starr played great team ball Defensively and offensively.  Great team win.

The Wildcats jumped Out to a 5-0 Lead after the Top of the First !! The Sad thing is that Starr came up in the Bottom of the First to Score 5 runs of their own with NO OUTS. Starr would go on to Score 7 More runs in the next 3 Innings and hold the Wildcats Scoreless in those 3 Innings the Wildcats would Score 1 run in the Fifth and 2 runs in the Seventh innings to make the Final Score 12-8 !!! Since the Last time that We played Starr and lost 15-2 this Game almost Seemed like a Win. 😂😂😂 Franklin Smith was 2 for 2 Bill Krieger,Gene Rubin and Monroe Weingarten were all 2 for  3 Charlie Whitaker and George Groves were both 2 for 4 !!!  The Wildcats had 18 Hits but could only Score in 3 Innings !!! In the 4th inning Jerry Barsky was Wandering around the infield like He was lost. At First I thought He was entering the Game as a Courtesy Runner then Bill Schwartz informed Me that He was just Littering the Field !!! Thank God that He wasn’t Lost, because who knows He may have ended up in Centerfield on Field 3 !!! In all it was a Fun Game with a Good Bunch of Guys just like every other Game in the Bucks County Senior Softball League !!!

Blue Jays 8 Flames 0

The Blue Jays played stellar defense in shutting down the Flames by a score of 8 to 0.  Jack McNulty gunned down the fleet Derek Foster attempting to stretch a hit into a triple to open the game and then the Jays defense settled in by retiring the next 13 consecutive hitters.  The Flames defense suffered some early jitters in the second and third innings to help the birds build an 8 to 0 lead.  Scott Comer made a nice running, kinda sliding, kinda falling out of his glove, then kinda pinning it against his private area catch to end a potential Flames rally late in the game. Jim O'Brien (a self described Cy Old award candidate) recorded his second shutout in just 41 years.

Derek Foster returned the favor versus Jack McNulty by making an outstanding catch on a long ball hit by Jack McNulty for the last Blue Jay out in the first inning.  After that Fred Weiner, Scott Comer, Jim O'Brien, Jeff Blank, Tom Sikora, Jim Swiderski, Warren Fuchs, Mark "Whitey" Jerden, Bob Doernberg, Jim Klemick and Del Kates all reached base safely as the birds scored 5 in the second and 3 in the third.  Then it was Jack's turn again. Fred Weiner and Jim Klemick led the offense with 2 hits.

The Blue Jays were firemen in hosing down the Flames in an 8 to 0 loss for the Flames. A crisp first inning for both teams did not portend the rest of the game.  The game quickly became a version of the Jimmy Buffet song "The Weather Is Here, Wish You Were Beautiful" with the Blue Jays scoring five runs in the second inning and three runs in the third through a combination of timely hitting and uncharacteristic poor Flames defense. Jim O'Brien pitched a great game keeping the Flames off balance all game allowing only six hits and striking out two batters.  The Flames offense was limited to two hits from Derek Foster (one a double) and singles from Kevin Grevera, Carl Weigand, Gene Harris, and Ron Tuminski.  The Flames did settle down and play scoreless defense after the third inning which they hope to carry into next week's games.
