Results of Thursday 6/23 games

Comets 10 Eagles 6

The Comets got their second straight victory beating the Eagles 10 to 6. The comets scored runs in all 7 innings and great defense paved the way to victory.  Kenny Riess went 4 for 4, Wayne Heaton 3 for 3, 3 hits for Jeff Blank, Billy Russell, Franklin Smith. And 2 hits for Aaron Osseroff, Jim Cro and Bob Sylvester. Wayne Heaton pitched another good game and fielded his position well. Two in a row, wow. Great team win.

The Eagles were up against the Comets and were clearly no match as the Comets scored at least one run every inning on the way to a 10-6 win over the big birds.

The score would have been a lot worse if it wasn't for some nice defensive catches by Kevin Culp who turned double plays with teammates Craig Wright, Bill Kreiger and Del Kates.  Gary Jones, Dave Courtwright, Bill Kreiger and Howard Wible each had two hits.  None of this was enough as the Eagles couldn't catch the Comets.

Wildcats 14 Devils 1

The Wildcats had their gloves on today and not because it was cold but their batting and fielding gloves as we exploding to a 14 - 1 win over the Jersey Devils this morning.  There was no whining or drinking as we gave up a first inning run to the Devils and did the glove work the rest of the game. Good play sealed the victory with Larry Restivo, Darryl Puzan and Warren Fuchs all had 3 hits, 2 hits each from Dr. Eric Gottlieb, Hal Katz, Frank Glauser and Billy Porter. On defense we almost played without a mistake and yielded only an early first inning run

11:00 games rained out

The rain washed out the 11:00 games that both only lasted one inning.
The Blue Jays were leading the Panthers 2 to 0 and the Wolverines were up on the Lions by the same score.
