Classics 14 Devils 13

WoW! WoW! This game started out with the Devils scoring 2 runs top of the 1st and the Classics coming back with 3 runs. Devils held scoreless in top of the 2nd but Classics managed to score one run to lead 4 to 2. The Devils combined  in the 3rd,4th and 5th for 8 runs but the Classics scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game 10-10. But the Devils were not going away with 3 runs in the top of the 6th to lead 13-10. The cardiac team known as the Classics scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win 14-13. The manager is now taking heart medication after that game.
Outstanding hitting for the Classics was Charlie Whittaker with 4 hits and Franco Folda with 4 hits with the last hit a game winning triple. Also, Craig Niederpruem with 3 hits and Aaron Sacharov and Eric Gottlieb with 2 hits each.

Wildcats 14 Comets 4

A 23 Hit attack by the Wildcats with a good deal of defense set the stage for the playoff win over Jerry’s Comets. 4 hits from Ed Brandriff, 3 each from Ed Schmidt, Frank Slack, Dale Cassidy and Bill Matlack. Two each from Ron Miller and Tracy Zimmerman made one hell of a 14 run attack and the defense played a good game in the field. It is amazing when you play well as a team you can do wonders.

Eagles 13 Blue Jays 5

The Eagles started early and led the Blue Jays 9-0 after three innings.  The Blue Jays outscored the Eagles by one run over the last four innings and the Eagles held onto a 13-5 win.

The Eagles were led by Ken Mealy with three hits and three runs scored.  Ron Cohen with three hits and three runs scored.  Tom Boyce three hits including two doubles.  Fred Weiner had two hits including a triple which drove in two runs.  Bill Schwartz also had two hits along with Bob Dolan.  Scott Comer made a very nice catch in right field and Tom Delaney pitched another great game.

The Blue Jays could not contain the top of the Eagles batting order and fell to the bigger birds by a score of 13 to 5.  The Jays scored 4 runs late to make the score seem closer that it actually was.  The Jays had 15 hits but didn't string enough of them together until the seventh inning when they had hits by Greg Petes, Jim O'Brien (double), Tom Redding, Lee Bullman (double) and Bill Russell (double).  Lee Bullman was the star of the game for the Jays playing a flawless second base and going 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  John Rozolis and Del Kates both had 2 hits.

Iron Pigs 11 Panthers 8

The Iron Pigs defeated the Panthers 11 to 8 by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the first which included a 3 run home run by Jack McNulty. The Panthers responded with 3 runs in the top of the second.  The Iron Pigs added 1 in the third inning and then 5 more in the fifth and held on after the Panthers with 5 runs in the seventh.  Jeff Blatt and Tom Boyle both had 3 hits.  Jack McNulty had 2 hits, one of which was the aforementioned home run, and a walk.  Rich Dempsey, Howaard Wible and Jim Stabene all contributed 2 hits.  Judy Agasar hit into bad luck with 3 hard line drives that were all caught.
