Agenda: Prepartion for the 2025 season
Registration Update and number of teams
We currently have 134 players registered which would indicate that we will need to expand to 10 teams for 2025. Jim O'Brien proposed that we continue to use the two softball fields and add an additional game on one of the baseball fields. Field 1 was recommended as it has a lower pitching mound. It was recommended and agreed upon that since the outfield fences are 30 feet shorter than the softball fields that a player be limited to one home run per game and that subsequent ball hit over the fence by that same player would be a ground rule double.
The draft committee is in the process of ranking players and have a deadline of 3/28 to complete the draft. This will allow Carl 4 weeks to complete procurement of hats and jerseys before the start of the season. The draft committee members are Jim O'Brien, Ron Mangini, Steve Belenko, Bill Russell, Jack Galloway, and Jack Zupan. Jim O'Brien has completed modification to the compute draft program to accomodate the expansion to 10 teams.
We will need to procure an additional double first base for use on field 1. (O'Brien to handle) We will also need a third home plate and game scorecard.
Andy Miller will pursue identify a third umpire for the early game. Jim O'Brien check to see if Rocco would be available but he will not be as long as the Crispen Garden League is still active.
Managers for the 2025 Season will be O'Brien, Esterly, Reeber, Schwartz, Gottlieb, Cosgrove, Segal, Henritzy, Delaney and Mangini.
The new team will be named the Blues Brothers and wear Columbia Blue jerseys.
